They used Orbit’s built in security framework and user management for getting a huge jump-start on their application development.VMI used the Orbit generated Table and Web API packages to minimize the amount of PL/SQL code on the back end. This enabled them to concentrate on the front-end look and feel of the application.
The Orbit Web API packages provide transaction and concurrency management, built in security, and dozens of other features that help in the creation of pure thin client web applications.The Orbit API packages saved VMI a huge amount of time in PL/SQL development.The Table API packages also acted as an excellent interface for converting legacy data.
Since VMI was not limited to a wizard based development approach for building the screens, they were able to create any look and feel they wanted.Orbit enables VMI to utilize web designers with minimal Oracle skills to build the HTML front front-end without having to worry about the database connectivity. |
